Why High Point Market Matters to Every Project at Ashley Morgan Interiors

Twice each year, a small city in North Carolina becomes the center of the design world. Thousands of designers, manufacturers, artisans, and industry professionals gather to share ideas, introduce new collections, and shape the future of interior design. While it may seem like just another trade show from the outside, High Point Market is anything but. It's one of the most valuable weeks of our year because the work we do there directly influences the homes we create for our clients in the months and years that follow.
High Point Market has a rich history dating back more than a century. What began as a regional furniture exposition has evolved into the largest home furnishings trade show in the world, attracting professionals from across the globe. Today, it spans millions of square feet of showroom space featuring furniture, lighting, textiles, accessories, artwork, rugs, wallcoverings, and countless other products that define the residential design industry. Unlike retail shopping, High Point Market is open exclusively to members of the design trade, creating an environment where designers and manufacturers can collaborate, exchange ideas, and experience the newest innovations firsthand.
For me, attending High Point Market is much more than identifying the latest styles. Several days are spent walking showroom after showroom, carefully examining craftsmanship, evaluating new furniture collections, studying fabric introductions, exploring lighting innovations, and reviewing advances in materials and technology. It's an opportunity to see, touch, and experience products before specifying them for clients, something that simply can't be replicated through online catalogs or digital presentations. Just as importantly, High Point provides valuable insight into how manufacturers continue to refine their products, improve performance, and respond to the evolving needs of today's homeowners. Alongside product research, I also participate in educational programming and business development opportunities that strengthen the firm's ability to serve clients at the highest level.
Equally important are the relationships built and strengthened throughout Market. Interior design is a relationship driven profession, and the partnerships we maintain with trusted vendors are an essential part of every successful project. I often have the opportunity to visit the production facilities for my favorite vendors when I'm in the area. Meeting face-to-face with the people who build, finish, upholster, and stand behind the products we specify creates a level of trust and communication that benefits everyone involved. These conversations often lead to a deeper understanding of manufacturing processes, product capabilities, custom options, and upcoming collections long before they become widely available. Strong vendor relationships also allow us to advocate more effectively for our clients, ensuring that every selection is supported by manufacturers we know, trust, and have worked alongside for years.
At Ashley Morgan Interiors, every trip to High Point Market is an investment in our clients. The knowledge we gain, the products we evaluate, and the relationships we cultivate all contribute to a higher level of service and more thoughtfully designed homes. Staying connected to the industry's leading manufacturers and artisans allows us to bring fresh ideas, exceptional craftsmanship, and proven resources to every project we undertake.
