Color has the power to easily shape a room’s mood and transform the way we experience a space. While we always lean on timeless palettes as our foundation, we also pay close attention to emerging trends that can bring fresh energy to a home. As we look ahead, certain color stories are starting to stand out—ushering in a new era of luxurious, livable hues. These aren’t fleeting fads, but thoughtful shifts toward tones that speak to comfort, connection, and subtle sophistication.

Moody Blues and Dusty Greens as the New Neutrals

Cool, grounded colors are stepping into the spotlight, but not in the ways you might expect. We’re seeing deep, inky blues and soft, sagey greens being used as the new neutrals—offering a calm, cocooning effect that feels both modern and classic. These tones bring a depth and richness that white and beige can’t always achieve, and they work beautifully in everything from cabinetry and wall paneling to upholstery and drapery. In our projects, we’re embracing these hues to anchor rooms while still allowing the architecture and furnishings to shine.

Earth-Inspired Tones with a Refined Edge

Nature continues to be a powerful influence on design, and with it comes a palette of earth-inspired tones—think ochre, warm clay, and baked terracotta. But this season, these shades are showing up with a bit more polish. Rather than rustic or bohemian, we’re seeing them used in tailored, high-end applications: velvet pillows in sienna, leather accents in saddle brown, and custom trims in muted mustard. These colors bring warmth and authenticity to a space, especially when paired with textured materials like linen, bouclé, and wood.

Unexpected Pops of Optimism

While muted and natural tones dominate the overall palette, we’re also predicting the strategic use of brighter, happier colors to punctuate otherwise serene interiors. Think accents of coral, citron, or even lavender used sparingly—but impactfully. These pops create a sense of delight and personality without overwhelming the room. We love to introduce these hues through art, accessories, or even in the lining of custom drapery for a subtle surprise. It’s a fresh way to keep a space feeling current without compromising elegance.

Color with Purpose and Personality

The color trends we’re seeing reflect a desire for balance—between boldness and restraint, comfort and style, timelessness and modernity. At AMI, we approach color with a deep understanding of how it influences mood and movement within a space. These emerging palettes offer a refined, forward-looking lens on luxury interiors, and we’re excited to incorporate them into projects that feel as personal as they are beautiful.
